Tactiles

It is imperative  that pathways and road crossings are made fully accessible to pedestrians. Dual use facilities, which cater for both pedestrians and cyclist, present a safety risk, particularly for the visually impaired.

Corduroy Warning Surface

The purpose of the Corduroy Warning Surface is to warn visually impaired people of the presence of specific hazards: steps, level crossings or the approach to on street light rapid transit (LRT) platforms.

Corduroy Glow-

Illuminates in darkness to reinforce warnings of a hazard ahead to the visually impaired


Blister Surface

The purpose of the Blister Surface Tactile is to provide a warning to visually impaired people who would otherwise find it difficult to notice the difference between where the footpath ends and the road begins.  


Blister Glow

Illuminates in darkness to highlight the exact location of where the highway ends and the road begins.

Platform Edge Warning Surface (Off-Street)

The purpose of the Platform Edge Warning Surface (Off-Street) is to warn visually impaired people of the edge of all off-street railway platforms. 


Guidance Path Surface

The purpose of the guidance path surface tactile is used to guide visually impaired people along a route when the traditional cues, such as a property line or kerb edge are not available.


Guidance Glow

Illuminates in darkness to highlight the edges of the guidance path.


Segregated Shared Cycle Track

The purpose of the Segregated Shared Cycle Track is to be used in conjunction with a segregated shared cycle track/foot-way is to advise visually impaired people of the correct side to enter.

Illuminated in darknes to help keep the cyclist and pedestrians segregated
